FAQs

Do you accept health insurance plans?

I am what is considered a cash based practice only so I do not accept insurance plans. I can provide itemized receipts (super bills) for those that may want to submit them to their insurance companies towards their deductibles or for reimbursement.

I understand the cost of care can be high so I do offer a sliding scale for those experiencing financial hardship.

Unfortunately due to current Medicare laws, if you are a Medicare recipient or are Medicare eligible, I am unable to provide you with physical therapy services in my private practice. However you are more than welcome to schedule with me for wellness or personal training sessions.

How do I pay for my appointment?

I accept Credit Card payments, Zelle, Venmo, Check and yes, even Cash payment. Digital payment is preferred and there is an option to add credit card information through the scheduling link.

Do you treat men?

At this time I am not currently seeing male patients in my office.

Is pelvic floor therapy considered sex therapy?

While we may certainly discuss sexual function and how it relates to pelvic floor function, pelvic floor PT is by no means sex therapy. If you are interested in receiving sex therapy, I can guide you to a provider to suite your needs.

What can I expect during a pelvic floor evaluation?

A pelvic floor evaluation will start similar to any physical therapy visit. First we will discuss relevant medical and surgical history including any examinations or referrals from your physician.

Next, I typically perform a movement assessment, examining range of motion and strength throughout the spine, hips and abdominals as relevant to your concerns.

Lastly and if appropriate, a formal pelvic floor exam is the last step in the evaluation. I always provide my patients with options as I want you to feel as comfortable as possible during your session. A pelvic floor exam includes evaluation of the tissues of the vulva, and anal region, assessing the first layer of pelvic floor muscles externally, and observing the movement of the pelvic floor. This portion of the exam can include palpation of the tissues or can be completely hands off.

An internal exam may be performed which includes a single gloved finger inserted into the vaginal canal or rectum to assess for strength, endurance and relaxation of the pelvic floor muscles.

As always, no part of the exam will be performed without patient consent.

I’m currently on my cycle, can I still attend my session?

Absolutely! The menstrual cycle is a normal part of life and I am comfortable treating my patients during their cycle as long as they are comfortable receiving care at that time.

Can I bring my baby to my appointment?

Absolutely! One of the perks of doing what I do is getting to meet all of the babies! Our space is cozy so it is best that your child is ambulatory or brought in a carrier as there will not be space for a stroller within the room. While tending to the little one may be necessary during our session, all I ask is that the child does not become a distraction so that you can really focus on your goals and what you’d like to achieve during our sessions. I look forward to meeting them!

Can I see you for concerns other than pelvic floor care?

Absolutely! At the end of the day, I am still a physical therapist so if you are experiencing symptoms in the feet, ankles, hips, shoulders, elbows, neck, lower, mid and upper back, with or without pelvic floor concerns, I am happy to provide care.
